ConocoPhillips Announces $500,000 Gift
Texas Tech University officials announced a gift of $500,000 from ConocoPhillips supporting the Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering and the Jerry S. Rawls College of Business.
The half-million dollar donation will benefit a variety of engineering and business programs with the largest allocations funding the SPIRIT Scholars Program, ConocoPhillips Academic Success Bridge Program and the new Rawls College of Business Building.
“We are fortunate to have such a loyal corporate partner as ConocoPhillips,” said Texas Tech University President Guy Bailey. “So many opportunities for students and graduates open up when a university receives such outstanding support as Texas Tech has from them, both in funding and hiring.”
Tom Mathiasmeier, senior vice president, ConocoPhillips Gas & Power, said his company is pleased to have such a strong partnership with Texas Tech University.
