For Angelo State University, the bar for their first-ever capital campaign was set high.
Ready to make their mark on the university’s 85-year-old history, more than 4,400 alumni and supporters easily met the challenge — twice.
For the second time in 18 months, Angelo State donors topped their alma mater’s goal for the Vision & Tradition campaign, passing the $35 million mark two months before the campaign’s August 31 deadline. Campaign planners set an original goal of $25 million for the university at the onset of the campaign but extended it when record contributions catapulted the institution past its goal sooner than expected.
“Angelo State’s fundraising efforts went above and beyond during our ambitious capital campaign,” said Texas Tech University System Chancellor Kent Hance. “Our supporters didn’t rest until meeting the challenge goal of $35 million, and we are truly grateful for the outstanding dedication of Angelo State alumni and friends.”
