Across the Texas Tech University System, faculty and staff gathered at campus events to recognize the 2020 recipients of the Chancellor’s Council Distinguished Teaching and Research Awards.
Funded by membership gifts to the Chancellor’s Council, the awards are the system’s highest faculty accolades. Texas Tech University System Chancellor Tedd L. Mitchell, M.D., announced this year’s 12 winners earlier this month.
“It’s an honor to join families and friends at each of our universities to celebrate these incredible faculty members. The work they do each day to advance human knowledge and impact students’ lives is inspiring, and I am grateful that our Chancellor’s Council members continue to make these honors possible,” Mitchell said.
To commemorate the award, the chancellor presented each recipient with a medallion engraved with the seal of the Texas Tech University System and a $5,000 stipend.
